What we see with our eyes is called external vision. But seeing with our eyes is not enough. We also need internal vision. External vision means using our eyes to see. Internal vision means using our mind to understand what we see.
For example, when we see a person, we notice their face, their actions, and their expressions. This is external vision. But we also think about who they are, what our relationship is with them, what they are saying, and how we should respond. These thoughts come from our mind. This is internal vision. Internal vision helps us build and keep good relationships.
If we behave badly with someone, our relationship with them can break. Why does this happen? Is it because of what we saw with our eyes? No. It is because our internal vision was not clear. So, we must improve our mind and thinking to have better internal vision.
Our mind is the most important part of how we see the world. If our mind is not calm or clear, then what we see with our eyes won’t help us much. Everything we see goes to our mind. The mind decides if something is good or bad. Based on that, we act. These actions shape our life. So, internal vision is what truly guides our life.
When our mind is peaceful and full of wisdom, our internal vision becomes clear. Only then does our external vision become meaningful. Both are needed to live a good life. But when our mind is confused or full of problems, our internal vision becomes weak. Even if our eyes see clearly, it won’t help us. The real blindness is not in the eyes, but in the lack of internal vision.
A clear internal vision comes from a wise and focused mind. A mind that knows what is right and wrong, avoids bad things, and follows good values. Meditation and spiritual practice help us develop this clear vision. We must understand this and follow that path.
